Registry-style ceremonies by civil celebrants, not a government registry office. No fuss, no frills, no wedding. Just paperwork.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of service is the Perth Marriage Office?

We are a private celebrant service providing low-cost, paperwork-only, registry-style marriages in Perth. We are not a government registry.

How do we get started?

Click Get Married, complete the booking form, and pay the fee. Then prepare your NOIM, have it witnessed properly, and send the paperwork to us.

When is our date confirmed?

We confirm the date, time, and place after we receive your NOIM and supporting paperwork, and once we have checked availability.

How much does the paperwork-only service cost?

The paperwork-only marriage service starts from $700. Optional extras such as witnesses or after-hours appointments are separate.

Do we still need to give one month notice?

Yes. Your NOIM must be received at least one calendar month before the marriage date unless a prescribed authority approves a shortening of time.

Do we need witnesses?

Yes. Australian law requires two witnesses who are, or appear to be, over 18. You can bring your own or book our witness service.

How long does the appointment take?

Most paperwork-only marriages take about five to ten minutes once everyone is there and ready to sign.

Can we get married online?

No. The marriage itself must happen in person with both parties, the celebrant, and two witnesses present.

Can we make this into a big ceremony?

This service is for paperwork-only marriages. If you want an elopement, use the Elopement Collective. If you want a full wedding ceremony, use Josh Withers.

What documents do we need for the NOIM?

Usually you need a passport, or a birth certificate or official extract plus photo ID, and any divorce or death documents if relevant. Non-English documents usually need a NAATI translation.

Can one of us sign the NOIM later?

Often yes. In some situations one party can give notice first and the other can sign later before the marriage. Ask us if this applies to you.
